Our Founder’s Vision

Forest River opened for business in 1996 when our founder Peter Liegl had a vision. He wanted people to enjoy the outdoors in great recreational vehicles that were built to last. He purchased a few of the assets of Cobra Industries and began manufacturing pop-up tent campers, travel trailers and fifth wheel trailers.

Forest River now produces a full line of recreational vehicles for both land and water. We produce Class A, B and C motorhomes, travel trailers, fifth wheels, toy haulers, pontoon boats and commercial vehicles. We operate multiple manufacturing facilities in the USA and all of our products are built to industry-leading standards.
